Air Pruned Raised Beds 102 (Bronx, NY)

Join the Bronx River Foodway team as they welcome Connor Youngerman of Cornell Small Farms and CCE Harvest NY for a deep dive into how to harvest from and winterize Air Pruned Raised Beds (APRBs). This session—a follow-up to the initial workshop this past April—will come full circle on how to implement APRBs as a propagation strategy. APRBs have been shown as an excellent method for growing a suite of urban tree species and hold great promise as a tool for forestry practitioners in NYC. Participants will have the opportunity to harvest and prepare saplings from the APRB, transplant them, and learn about overwintering the beds as a strategy.

There is no charge for the workshop, however pre-registration is required, as participation is capped at 20.
