The weasels have long been portrayed as "blood thirsty" creatures, and when a person is called a "weasel",  they are believed to be dishonest and sneaky.  These negative connotations could not be further from the truth with respect to these spectacular and environmentally important animals.  Weasels can take enormous numbers of crop damaging mice and voles and are capable of killing prey up to ten times their own weight.  The weasels even have an interesting connection to kings!  These small and mighty predators are worth a second look and a possible reconsideration and makeover in the collective public eye.
