About Cutler Botanic Garden
Cutler Botanic Garden is a center for teaching horticulture and environmental stewardship, helping visitors learn to grow plants with minimal impact on the environment. The garden features 14 themed areas, including propagation, daylilies, composting and rain barrel demonstrations, a shade garden, perennials, a rock garden, native habitats, ornamental grasses, herbs, roses, vegetables, and a hydrangea collection. In fall 2023, the garden added rebuilt rock walls, stone steps, a new water feature, a wildflower meadow, a hardscape labyrinth, and a new event space.
The garden is free and open to the public year-round, dawn to dusk, for self-guided tours (please note that during the winter months, garden walkways are not cleared of snow or ice). Cutler is also one of about 360 All-America Selections display gardens nationwide, previewing next year's AAS winners each season.
The community uses Cutler in many ways -as an outdoor classroom for local students exploring the plant kingdom, and as the site of hands-on adult workshops on topics like annuals, perennials, roses, integrated pest management, and composting.

Broome County Pollinator Pathway
Pollinators are essential to growing our food and sustaining healthy ecosystems—making this work vital to both environmental and community health. The Pathway is part of a larger effort to build a continuous corridor of safe habitat for birds, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, connecting private gardens with public spaces.
Even a small garden can make a difference. Take our survey to tell us about your space and join the Pathway, or email us at broomepollinatorpathway [at] gmail.com to learn more.
Raise awareness for pollinator protection by adding a sign to your yard. Purchase a Pollinator Pathway Yard Sign here.
Purchased signs will be available for pick up at the CCE-BC office during office hours (M-F, 8:30-4:30) or the BC Regional Farmers Market on Saturdays 9 to 1.
Signs will not be mailed. If you are outside the Broome County area, please visit the national Pollinator Pathway site.
