How to join

The Essex County Farmer to Farmer Listserv and the Adirondack Farmers Listserv are two essential resources for the farming community. The purpose of both email groups is to facilitate peer to peer education, networking, and collaboration through open forum discussion.

Our office manages the Essex County Farmer to Farmer Listserv, whereas the Adirondack Farmers Listserv is managed directly by the farmers. The Essex County group tends to have a more refined focus, whereas the Adirondack Farmers group casts a wider net, including farms throughout the entire North Country region.

Please use this link to request access to the listserv. An admin will reach out to verify and approve your request. If the listserv is not your style, just send us a message and we can post events, farm listings, and more on your behalf.

Key things to consider when using the listserv:

  • Ensure your messages stick to farming topics that benefit the community (e.g. buying and selling equipment, plants, produce, and supplies; sharing knowledge about practices, equipment and products; experience dealing with farm management issues, events such as educational workshops, social gatherings or networking opportunities, and other trainings like webinars, conferences, etc).
  • This is not a political platform or a place to solicit outside the context of agriculture.
  • Do not reply all to the list! Only send replies to the original sender, who should then compile the responses and send out a single email with a clear subject line, e.g. "responses to question about..."
