Rain Garden Installation Program
Ready to solve your yard's drainage problems while helping the environment? Turn your soggy lawn areas into beautiful rain gardens with hands-on training from local conservation experts. This 3-session program guides homeowners through designing, installing, and maintaining rain gardens that manage stormwater naturally.
Participants will learn to:
- Assess your property and choose the best rain garden locations
- Select native plants that thrive in wet and dry conditions
- Calculate proper sizing and depth for your specific yard
- Install your rain garden using proper techniques and materials
- Maintain your garden for long-term success and maximum water absorption
Program Details:
- When: Session 1 (May 8), Session 2 (May 15), Session 3 (May 22) - all Saturdays 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Where: Sessions 1 & 3 at Extension office; Session 2 at demonstration site
- Cost: $75 per household (includes site visit and plant recommendations)
- Bonus: Participants receive 20% off native plants at partnering nurseries
