The 4-H experience is delivered by a community of more than 100 public universities, countless volunteers, and mentors across the nation. This experience grows leaders with life skills like confidence, independence, resilience, and compassion.
What is 4-H?
4-H is a national and international youth development program designed to empower youth through experiential learning and leadership opportunities. In 4‑H, kids and teens complete hands-on projects in areas like science, creative arts, agriculture and civic engagement. These projects are developed with guidance from adult mentors, volunteers, and club leaders.
The Ulster County 4-H Program offers a traditional club model, where participants attend regular meetings and complete projects together, as well as special ongoing programs and events. 4-H has a number of adult volunteer opportunities such as club leaders, mentors, evaluators, and event volunteers.
