Background
In 2011, the limited kitchen space used for teaching purposes by the Nutrition and Food Safety staff at CCE-Tompkins was transformed into a well-equipped certified kitchen with 4 cooking stations, upgraded appliances, a sanitation room, food pantry and laundry facilities. Renovations were funded by grants totaling $250,000 from Cargill Deicing of Lansing and Cargill Incorporated of Minneapolis. The project was designed and overseen by Schickel Architects and was dedicated formally as the Cargill Teaching Kitchen on March 30, 2012.
