This workshop features two concurrent educational learning tracks tailored specifically to different roles on the dairy: a leadership track for Farm Managers focusing on safety culture and evaluation, and a hands-on track for Animal Care Workers focusing on ground-level stockmanship and safety.
Topics Include:
• Safety Leadership & Culture: Strategies to build and manage a proactive on-farm safety culture.
• Stockmanship Standards: Measuring and monitoring animal care in compliance with FARM standards.
• Hands-On Cattle Handling: Low-stress handling techniques, including flight zones and point of balance, with live cow practice.
• Specialized Care & Safety: Best practices for down cow welfare and safety, as well as safety strategies for the maternity pen.
