The 4-H tractor safety class is designed to provide youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate tractors safely. The program includes hands-on learning experiences under the direction of caring adults, covering topics such as engine operation, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. The tractor operator skills area and state contests will include parts identification and obstacle course practicums only, with the quiz/exam practicum not being part of the contests.
