The Empire State Supreme Ewe Show is a new statewide event celebrating the best breeding ewes from across New York. Hosted by Orleans County Cornell Cooperative Extension, the show will bring together champion animals from county fairs and livestock shows for a final competition at the end of the fair season.
The inaugural show will take place September 13, 2026 at the Orleans County Fairgrounds in Albion, New York, in conjunction with the Orleans County Fall Open Class Sheep Show. This creates a full weekend opportunity for exhibitors, with the Open Class Sheep Show on September 12 followed by the Empire State Supreme Ewe Show on September 13.
County fairs and livestock shows across New York are invited to participate by sending their Supreme Champion Ewe to represent their show. Preference will be given to champions from Open Shows. If a fair does not hold an Open Show, priority will shift to 4-H champions.
Champions will compete for Supreme and Reserve Supreme honors, with banners, rotating trophies, and cash prizes awarded.
This event is designed to celebrate the hard work of exhibitors, highlight quality breeding stock, and bring together the New York sheep community to cap off the fair season.
