CCE Summer Internship Program

The Cornell Cooperative Extension Summer Internship Program has helped Cornell fulfill its land grant mission by engaging students in outreach since 2007.

Faculty and staff from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Human Ecology along with extension educators from local Cornell Cooperative Extension offices involve students in the college’s work to benefit New York State communities. New this year, with support from the Office of Engagement Initiatives, faculty and staff from colleges outside of CALS and CHE will also be offering opportunities for students to work with local Extension offices to engage and involve local communities. From research to education outreach, interns are involved in a wide spectrum of activities which they document through detailed personalized blogs. Summer findings and experiences are presented in the fall semester at the CCE Summer Internship Reception with campus and CCE Association leaders, faculty and CCE Extension Administration staff in attendance.

Successful candidates will be awarded with a $5,000 stipend for the summer of 2020.  The stipend will be processed through Cornell Financial Aid RUSS process.  We encourage students to reach out to Cornell’s Financial Aid Office to see if there is any impact to fall or winter semester awards.

CCE Summer Internships are exclusive to Cornell University students enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) or in the College of Human Ecology (CHE).   In 2020, with the support of the Office of Engagement Initiatives (OEI), selected project opportunities will be open to all Cornell University students. The application deadline for all CCE Summer Internship projects is February 28, 2020. Projects will remain open until a candidate has been selected.  Please contact Connie Kan with questions.
