Be sure to give yourself extra time before your first scheduled activity of the day to make your way to campus and find parking. We highly recommend using public transportation or your hotel’s shuttle service if at all possible.

Getting to campus by Hotel Shuttle: Most hotels, including the Best Western, offer a complimentary area shuttle service. Talk with the staff at your hotel’s front desk for details and scheduling.

Getting to campus by public bus: Using TCAT busses can be a great way to get to campus. Single rides are $1.50 each (note that no change is given). If you are staying in downtown Ithaca, you can catch the Route 10 bus from the Seneca Street station in front of the parking garage on Seneca street which faces the Ithaca Commons. This bus leaves approximately every 10 minutes from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. Get off at the Goldwin Smith Hall stop and continue walking in the direction the bus was traveling. At the first intersection (Tower Road), turn left. Continue up Tower road until you reach the intersection with Garden Road. Turn right. King Shaw Hall and the conference center will be the second building on your right.

If you are staying at the Best Western, you may also choose to take a TCAT bus from the East Hill Plaza to the Kennedy Hall stop at the corner of Tower and Garden. Cross Tower road and proceed down Garden Ave. King Shaw Hall and the conference center will be the second building on your right. The Route 82 services this area about every 15 minutes between 7:25 am and 6:50 pm.

Parking on campus:

Remember to carpool whenever possible.

Should you wish to travel to campus by car, we highly recommend using Parkmobile.

Park: Look for the green Parkmobile sign.
Pay: Use the Parkmobile mobile app, mobile website or call 1-877-727-5730 and enter the zone number listed on the sign. Pay using credit card or PayPal.
Go: Head to the conference. You can even opt-in to receive a text notification 15 minutes before your parking session is set to expire.

Visit http://transportation.fs.cornell.edu/parking/campusparking/visitors/parkmobile.cfm for more information and to download the app to your smart phone and set up an account.  The closest lots that allow Parkmobile are the:

  • Peterson lot at the intersection of Tower and Judd Falls Road
  • Bartels Meter/Friedman lot on Campus Road north of Lynah Rink
  • Hoy South Lot on Hoy Road near the parking garage.

You may also visit an  information booth upon your arrival to purchase a visitor parking pass. The closest booths are located at

  • Booth #1 - 165 Hoy Road by the Parking Garage
  • Booth #2 - 360 Tower Road by Stocking Hall
  • Booth #3 - 311 Campus Road by Carpenter Hall
