New York State is home to over 35,000 farms which cultivate approximately 25% of the total land area (7.55 million acres) to produce a very diverse array of products including: tree fruits, berries, grapes, vegetables, maple syrup, dairy products, meat, poultry, eggs, turf grass, bedding and garden plants, Christmas trees, and other horticultural products.
